Job summary

EMPACT - Suicide Prevention Center is seeking Peer Support Specialists in Tempe, Arizona. This role involves working closely with the Phoenix Fire Behavioral Health Unit to provide community support and intervention.

Ideal candidates will possess strong communication skills and lived experience in behavioral health. Generous benefits are offered for full-time employees, including PTO and medical plans.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older at time of employment.
• One year of Peer Support experience preferred.
• Valid Arizona Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Respond to dispatches to community members identified by the 911 system.
• Provide peer level support utilizing relatability and crisis intervention.
• Collaborate with Phoenix CAP staff to assist with efficient program operation.

Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to remain tactful and calm

Experience providing Peer Level support

Education

Peer Support Certification preferred
