Job summary

The City of Lynchburg is seeking a dedicated professional to assess families/clients in crisis and coordinate necessary resources. The role emphasizes engaging clients and the community to develop action plans that reflect client input and promote stability and growth.

Responsibilities include conducting field visits, collaborating with agencies, and documenting complex cases for court proceedings while interpreting and implementing pertinent policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Must possess a baccalaureate degree in the human services field; or a bachelor’s degree in any field with a minimum of two years related experience.
• Possession of valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Criminal background check, drug and alcohol screen and CPS Registry check required.
• IS100 and IS700 National Incident Management training within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Makes comprehensive assessment of families/clients in crisis.
• Analyzes needs and coordinates resources to support the family/client.
• Develops and implements a plan of action involving family/client input.
• Engages family/client and community in problem solving to resolve crises.
• Stabilizes living and interpersonal skills through counseling and referrals.
