Job summary

City and County of Denver seeks a Masters Level Clinician to join the Crisis Response Team at the Denver Sheriff Department. You will perform crisis intervention, develop treatment plans, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team within detention facilities.

Responsibilities include conducting clinical interviews, assessing needs, and supervising case management with medical staff. A CO license pathway is required or in process, with 24/7 operations and variable shifts.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Counseling, Counseling, or a closely related field.
• One (1) year of related experience.
• Licensure: SWC/LSW or LPCC in CO, or must obtain CO licensure via DORA before start date.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial clinical interviews and assign mental health alerts.
• Evaluate clients for placement and services; summarize assessment information for staff.
• Develop coordinated treatment plans with client, support system, and professionals.
• Provide ongoing crisis intervention and referrals to community-based services.
• Present case information to staff and provide treatment direction.
• Provide staff training on mental health topics and debrief after incidents.
• Coordinate supervision with licensed mental health provider and medical team for medications.
• Prepare written reports documenting crises, contacts, interviews, and observations.
• Conduct evidence-based group therapy in general housing units.
• Cofacilitate trainings on mental health awareness and crisis intervention.
