Job summary

Douglas County is seeking a CRT Clinician to join the Community Response Team, operating as a Co-Responder with law enforcement on a 40-hour work week, primarily in a police vehicle. The team serves Castle Rock, Lone Tree, Highlands Ranch, and Parker, CO, delivering crisis intervention in the community.

The role emphasizes rapid assessment, safety planning, and coordination with providers to reduce emergency department visits and support individuals and families in crisis.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work required.
• Must be licensed or supervised pending licensure (LPC, LMFT, LCSW).
• At least 2 years of treatment experience in a mental health setting.
• Crisis experience required.
• Experience with military and/or law enforcement is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Involves identifying, assessing, stabilizing, and safety planning with individuals and families to reduce risk.
• Works alongside law enforcement and treatment providers as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Assist in diverting individuals from emergency departments and keeping them in the community.
• Conduct psychosocial evaluations for individuals in acute psychiatric emergencies.
• Develop safety/crisis intervention plans that are client-centered.
• Coordinate placement and follow-up with community providers using Wrap-Around philosophy.
• Function as part of an interdisciplinary team and maintain professional relationships with community partners.
• Provide care that respects cultural beliefs and norms.
• Refer to resource services to meet SDoH needs.
• Document in Julota all assessments and interactions; discuss in team meetings.
