Guilford County Department of Social Services seeks an Adult Protective Services Social Worker to deliver direct and indirect casework for adults at risk. You will assess family safety, coordinate with community partners, and respond promptly to crisis situations under statutory timeframes.

Qualifications

• Policy and procedure knowledge per governing authority.
• Ability to work with families and the public who may disagree with the process.
• Use advanced case management interview techniques to assess needs and involve families.
• Ability to quickly assess environments during daytime, after dark, in high crime areas.
• Ability to document cases clearly and accurately.
• Ability to negotiate to resolve complex cases.
• Ability to analyze child developmental safety issues related to risk factors.
• Ability to determine if court action is necessary in challenging cases.

Responsabilités

• Provide social work services to adults identified as victims or potential victims of abuse, neglect, exploitation, or dependency.
• Assess strengths and needs, safety, and family support systems; work under supervision.
• Coordinate with partners, service providers, law enforcement, medical and mental health professionals.
• Recruit, train, and retain families for foster/adoptive homes and provide ongoing support.
• Handle timely responses and ensure compliance with state mandated processing times.
• Work in Child Protective Services and Adult Protective Services areas as assigned.
• Prepare documentation and reports for the court as required.
