Job summary

Sheppard Pratt is seeking a Rehabilitation Specialist in Columbia, MD. This full-time in-person role involves providing direct care to individuals in crisis, helping clients develop skills for independent living, and ensuring medication safety and adherence.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team, coordinate transportation to appointments, and advocate for clients while documenting progress and follow-up actions. A driver’s license and willingness to work varied shifts are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications and trainings as needed.
• Driver’s license with 3 points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
• Availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as program needs.

Responsibilities

• Act as a residential counselor and work one-on-one with clients to develop skills for independent living and socialization.
• Ensure medication compliance and maintain safety, dosage accuracy, and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with a service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
• Provide transportation and attend clients’ medical appointments, advocating for clients and documenting follow-up instructions.
