Job summary

Klickitat County in Goldendale, WA is hiring a Designated Crisis Responder/Therapist in Behavioral Health. This role handles crisis calls, performs assessments, arranges hospital or detox placements, and coordinates with emergency responders to stabilize individuals in crisis.

The position features three 12-hour shifts weekly (with 4 hours admin time) totaling 40 hours, potential evenings/night shifts, and eligibility for agency licensure; MSW preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of clinical experience.
• Must be eligible for registration as Agency Affiliated Counselor or have LMHC/LICSW license.
• Knowledge of DSM, ASAM criteria, and evidence-based treatment.
• Proficient with office equipment and software including Excel and Word.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff, and the public.
• Willingness to participate in court testimony and ongoing supervision.
• Criminal background check required.
• Licensed LMHC/LICSW or eligible within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Receiving calls for crisis services from individuals, law enforcement, medical facilities, and service providers and responding in the community to assess safety and information.
• Determining the least restrictive environment for crisis resolution and stabilization.
• Arranging client placements for voluntary and involuntary hospitalization or detox services.
• Communicating with Behavioral Health team about clients who have had crisis contact and participating in safety planning.
• Completing extensive clinical and legal documentation for each call and maintaining records, progress notes, and other required documentation.
• Providing testimony in court as required.
• Attending weekly supervision and team meetings as requested.
• Responsible for Behavioral Health quality management, compliance and chart reviews.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
