Job summary

Seven Counties Services in Louisville, KY seeks a Full-Time Crisis Counselor for the 3rd shift (32 hours weekly). You provide crisis and suicide intervention by telephone, document interventions, and connect callers with community resources.

You will supervise counselors and volunteers, deliver training, participate in staff meetings, and offer crisis support to communities affected by suicide. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred, or a high school diploma with crisis intervention

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of experience in social services.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of available community resources.

Responsibilities

• Provides crisis and suicide intervention counseling over the telephone to callers in emergency situations.
• Documents and maintains accurate records of telephone interventions.
• Reviews daily logs and client records to ensure accurate information.
• Supervises and monitors the work of a staff of telephone counselors and volunteers.
• Provides crisis intervention training and consultation to counselors and community groups.
• Attends staff and team meetings and shares information on procedures.
• Provides crisis intervention to community groups traumatized by suicide as assigned.
