Job summary

Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems is seeking a Crisis Counselor/Specialist to provide phone and mobile crisis services, conduct assessments, and connect clients with life-saving resources in Reading, PA. You will work across days and nights in a full-time role, documenting care and coordinating with local emergency services.

The position emphasizes compassionate, evidence-based interventions with strong communication and documentation discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health discipline with 1 year of experience or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
• Pennsylvania Act 33 clearance and Act 34 clearance are required.
• Verification of exclusion from Medicaid/Medicare Exclusion lists.
• Strong crisis intervention knowledge and solid communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform crisis assessments and triage for individuals in distress.
• Provide immediate crisis counseling via telephone and mobile outreach.
• Coordinate with police and EMS for emergency responses.
• Maintain clinical documentation, treatment plans and discharge summaries.
• Deliver referrals and follow-up to ensure continuity of care.
