Job summary

Terry Reilly Health Services seeks a Crisis Intervention Specialist to coordinate crisis services across our behavioral health clinics. You will provide de-escalation, stabilization, and referrals to higher levels of care for individuals in crisis, including substance use issues, across multiple sites.

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or related field, and CPI or equivalent credential (or ability to obtain within 90 days), plus at least 2 years in crisis

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or related field; CPI credential or equivalent within 90 days.
• 2 years in triage or crisis unit with crisis intervention and suicide prevention/postvention experience.
• Experience collaborating with disenfranchised populations including psychiatric and substance-use groups.

General Responsibilities

Coordinates and provides crisis intervention services on a continuum to include intervention, prevention, and postvention efforts. Candidate will provide de-escalation, stabilization, and referrals to higher levels of care to individuals experiencing a mental health and/or substance use crisis across Terry Reilly clinics. This position may travel across clinics based on patient need.

Minimum Qualifications

• Successful clearance of Department of Health and Welfare criminal background check.
• Bachelor's Degree (psychology, social work, counseling, or related field) with existing credentialing from Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) or an equivalent Crisis Intervention certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment.
• 2 years working in a triage or crisis unit capacity with experience in crisis intervention and suicide prevention/intervention/postvention.
• Experience collaborating with disenfranchised patient populations, including psychiatric and substance use populations.
• Critical thinking and effective decision making for managing high-acuity crisis requests and decision-making skills that facilitate safety and crisis resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree (psychology, social work, counseling, or related field) and active Crisis Intervention certification
• Behavioral Health professional or Licensed Clinician (LPC, LCPC, LSW, LMSW, LCSW, QP)
• Experience in crisis call centers, or community crisis centers, or mobile crisis units
• Peer Support Specialist certification, or a Certified Recovery Coach
• Trained in Applied Suicide Skills Training (ASSIST) or Safe Talk
• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Experience working in a medical setting, community health setting, or as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Knowledge of computer and email systems, as well as EHR.
• Knowledge of community resources, including those for the migrant and farm worker populations.
• Knowledge of Patient Assistance/Medication Assistance Programs.
• Familiarity with State of Idaho Health & Welfare Mental Health system.
