Job summary

Denton County MHMR seeks a Crisis Psychiatric Triage Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) to provide crisis services to Denton County residents at the Psychiatric Triage Facility. Responsibilities include face-to-face assessments, urgent follow-ups, and team collaboration to determine least restrictive treatment.

This grant-funded position requires a four-year degree in a human services field, one year of mental health experience, and a Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a four-year college/university in a human services field.
• 1 year of mental health experience required; crisis experience preferred.
• English/Spanish bilingual preferred.

Responsibilities

• Attend and participate in scheduled meetings with Psychiatric Triage team.
• Provide courteous, professional services and maintain boundaries.
• Enter time worked and submit time sheets by deadline.
• Coordinate client care and ensure staff contact within 10 minutes of arrival.
• Provide emergency/crisis intervention per HHSC and center policies.
• Collaborate to determine least restrictive treatment and risk of harm assessments.
• Develop crisis/recovery plans with individuals and document decisions.
• Complete documentation within specified timeframes (2 business days, ROH within 1 hour).
• Ensure follow-up on 24-hour assessments and arrange transportation as needed.
• Maintain familiarity with TAC, HHSC guidelines, and center policies.
