Job summary

Crawford County Mental Health Center in Girard, KS, is seeking a compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the crisis intervention team at the CC-CIC. The role focuses on nursing assessments, medication management, and crisis intervention for adults with acute and chronic psychiatric conditions in a high-acuity setting.

You will collaborate with RNs and clinicians, document clearly, monitor patients, and participate in safety planning and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Kansas LPN license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program.
• Two years of psychiatric/mental health nursing experience preferred.
• Experience with trauma-informed care and crisis intervention.
• MOAB training completed or to be completed per center requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on admission and throughout the patient’s stay, documenting vitals and changes.
• Administer medications and treatments within licensure, monitoring therapeutic effects and adverse reactions.
• Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation in acute psychiatric emergencies.
• Collect, label, handle, and prepare laboratory specimens as ordered.
• Maintain accurate, concise, timely clinical documentation per regulatory and CIC policies.
• Collaborate with RNs and other professionals to support treatment and discharge planning.
