Job summary

High Plains Mental Health Center is hiring a CIC LPN in Hays, KS. This full-time, in-person role operates on a 7pm–7am schedule with potential PRN/part-time hours and weekend work, supporting a new Crisis Intervention Center launched to improve community mental health access.

Responsibilities include admissions assessments, medication administration, direct patient care, safety planning, and coordination with the clinical team.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain a current Kansas LPN license.
• Experience in psychiatric, emergency, behavioral health, or inpatient care preferred.
• Ability to perform basic physical and behavioral health assessments.

Responsibilities

• Assist admission with assessments, document history and vitals.
• Administer and monitor psychiatric medications; observe side effects.
• Provide direct patient care and crisis support.
• Implement suicide prevention and safety plans.
• Use de-escalation techniques for behavioral health emergencies.
• Maintain timely documentation and update patient condition changes.
• Support discharge planning with case managers and clinical team.
• Attend trainings on trauma-informed care and crisis intervention.
