Job summary

View Point Health seeks a Behavioral Health Clinician/Law Enforcement Co-Responder to join a collaborative program with Newton County law enforcement. You will perform rapid crisis assessments, coordinate referrals to treatment, and work closely with officers to determine dispositions during crises.

Responsibilities include direct crisis work, patrol support when allowed, and training police personnel on behavioral health topics.

Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited college or university
• Eligibility to be licensed as LCSW/LPC/LMSW/LAPC in Georgia
• Two years of supervised experience in the area of assignment

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid crisis intervention and assessment on an as-needed basis.
• Offer face-to-face or telephonic follow-up when clinically indicated.
• Accompany police officers on patrol as allowed by command staff.
• Collaborate with law enforcement to divert from the criminal justice system when appropriate.
• Coordinate linkage to behavioral health services with VPH clinics and programs.
• Provide training to police personnel on behavioral health topics as needed.
• Submit monthly statistics and maintain liaison with mental health providers and law enforcement.
• Engage with Court Clinicians to optimize dispositions and outcomes.
• Organize Community Police Collaborative meetings with stakeholders.
