Qualifications

• Master's degree in psychology, social work, or related field.
• Minimum of one year of mental health/substance use counseling experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and staff.
• Analytical skills to monitor patient behavior and maintain a safe milieu.
• Excellent writing to document progress in medical records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct crisis assessment and identify level of care disposition.
• Educate patients on treatment options for mental health and substance use.
• Provide immediate crisis intervention to stabilize patients.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team on treatment and disposition.
• Coordinate referrals and appointments for community stabilization.
• Coordinate with ED doctor and psychiatrist for inpatient care decisions.
• Communicate with collateral partners about disposition and safety plan.
• Document progress notes in the treatment record.
• Engage in follow-up contact with identified clients.
• Provide grief support and CISD as requested.
• Respond to crisis calls and external requests as needed.
