Job summary

Fairfax County Government is seeking a hearing coordinator within the Emergency Services Unit to support psychiatric placements, manage related administrative processes, and coordinate commitments. The role requires strong communication, organization, and teamwork in a fast-paced crisis setting.

The successful candidate will collaborate with hospitals, CSUs, courts, and law enforcement, while maintaining accurate records and facilitating hearings as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, sociology, nursing, public health or a related field.
• Or a bachelor's degree and a valid QMHP or CSAC certification.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate psychiatric placements for voluntary and involuntary clients requiring hospitalization or crisis stabilization services.
• Upload relevant documentation into the statewide Virginia Crisis Connect Behavioral Health Link and assist with commitment hearings.
• Communicate outcomes to stakeholders and work with law enforcement, hospital staff, the court system, and other partners across the state.
