Job summary

JUF seeks a compassionate Case Manager to support clients in crisis by providing financial assistance, budgeting, benefits advocacy, and navigating available resources in Chicago's Edgewater, Uptown and Lakeview communities.

This role includes client services, program facilitation, and collaboration across departments to promote long-term stability and self-sufficiency. A bilingual English/Spanish background is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience in the social service field.
• Experience with budgeting and financial stability programs preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Outlook, Excel) and able to learn other systems.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to maintain data entry accuracy and reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and time management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct screenings, intakes, and assessments for clients needing emergency services and financial assistance.
• Provide crisis intervention and advocacy for housing instability and benefits navigation.
• Conduct benefits assessments and link clients with public benefits and resources.
• Assist clients with budgeting based on their needs.
• Coordinate case management across departments.
• Develop and facilitate client-centered programming, including budgeting workshops.
• Conduct workshops with team members and support outreach.
• Enter case notes accurately and timely; track attendance.
• Attend and participate in internal and external meetings.
• Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions.
