Job summary

Burrell Behavioral Health in Columbia, MO, is seeking a Community Behavioral Health Liaison II to connect individuals involved in the criminal justice system with timely mental health care and community resources. The role coordinates complex cases, supports crisis intervention, and builds strong partnerships with law enforcement, courts, jails, treatment providers, and community organizations.

You will work within Crisis Services to reduce barriers, promote recovery, and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice, or related field.
• At least two years of behavioral health or criminal justice experience.
• Complete the 40-hour Crisis Intervention Team training within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Connect individuals referred by authorized sources with behavioral health services and supports.
• Partner with law enforcement to strengthen crisis intervention and diversion efforts.
• Coordinate with courts, treatment teams, and justice partners to improve system responses.
• Coordinate with jails to complete behavioral health screenings and discharge planning.
• Support crisis intervention initiatives including co-responder programs and 988 coordination.
• Educate stakeholders about behavioral health, crisis response, and available resources.
