Job summary

BJC Behavioral Health is seeking a Community Behavioral Health Liaison to coordinate services for individuals with behavioral health needs who interact with law enforcement, courts, and hospital emergency departments in the St. Louis area.

This role supports access to services and system-level improvements. The role requires a Master’s in Social Services or related field, 2–5 years of relevant experience, and licensure such as LCSW or LPC.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Social Services or related field.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in behavioral health coordination or liaison roles.
• Valid Driver's License.
• LCSW or LPC certification/licensure preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate services and develop local systems of care for individuals with behavioral health needs who have contact with law enforcement, courts, and hospital emergency departments.
• Collaborate with local partners in specialty or diversion courts addressing behavioral health issues.
• Participate in local law enforcement Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) or similar initiatives.
• Provide or coordinate training and consultation on behavioral health issues for court personnel as needed.
• Assist law enforcement and courts in assessment, access to voluntary services, locating inpatient psychiatric beds for court-ordered detentions, and handling petitions for involuntary detentions in coordination with Access Crisis Intervention (ACI).
