Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychosocial and therapeutic support to patients/clients during behavioral health crises.
  • Complete Behavioral Health Assessments (BHAs) within required timeframes.
  • Conduct clinical interviews and develop diagnostic impressions based on assessments.
  • Collaborate with healthcare team to facilitate group discussions and recovery planning.
  • Deliver individual therapy and, when needed, family sessions to aid community reintegration.

Pathways Center's Crisis Stabilization Units (CSU's) are short term (2-7 days), medically monitored crisis residential programs, which offer services for a limited duration to stabilize mental health disorders, provide detoxification services, evaluate treatment options, and develop long-term recovery/treatment plans. Pathways Center’s Care Campus is designed to serve as a first line of community-based alternative care to hospitalization, offering psychiatric stabilization and detoxification services on a short-term basis. Interventions are provided by licensed behavioral health professionals designed to prevent out of community treatment or hospitalization.In addition to Pathways Center’s Adult and Child Centers, Pathways Center’s Licensed Counselors are part of Coweta County’s emergency response program entitled Coweta CARES. Coweta CARES is a unique para-medicine program that is designed to address behavioral health crisis calls to 911. Coweta CARES is a co-responder team of licensed counselors and paramedics who work collaboratively to stabilize individuals who are experiencing behavioral health crises. The goal is to reduce unnecessary hospitalization and emergency department presentations.The Licensed Counselor for the Care Campus rotates throughout all programs to ensure timely and quality care; therefore the schedule will vary. The Licensed Counselor role has performance targets/productivity expectations to ensure quality care as well as compliance with regulatory and governing entities. Responsibilities for the Licensed Counselor will include but not be limited to the following:Provides patients/clients with the psychosocial and therapeutic support needed to cope with behavioral health crisis and/or detoxificationCompletes Behavioral Health Assessments (BHA's) as a part of the intake process within the required timeframes. Conducts clinical interviews with the residents and is able to make a diagnostic impression based on clinical assessmentWorks with other healthcare team members to prepare for and facilitate individual and group discussions on the unit with patients/clients to promote and reinforce the recovery processProvides individual therapy and may conduct family sessions as needed to help facilitate a successful transition back into the communityDevelops treatment plans collaboratively with the patient/client and input from all treatment team membersProvides professional level therapeutic services to persons with mental illness and/or addictive diseaseWorks alongside EMS personnel in the Coweta Cares programProvides risk assessment and crisis interventionF acilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and Care Campus healthcare teamMust be proficient in use of technology with respect to use of Electronic Medical Record.Minimum QualificationsLPC, LCSW, or LMFT license in GeorgiaA minimum of 1 year experience working in a behavioral health setting.Will consider associate licensed candidate, or license-eligible candidate with Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or Marriage and Family Therapy.Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree in social work and counseling from an accredited college or university and eligibility to be licensed and two (2) years of supervised experience in the area of assignment or two years of experience at the lower level Social Worker, Licensed 1 (HCP050) or position equivalent.Equal Employment Opportunity EmployerThe State of Georgia does not discriminate based on race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, disability, or other protected categories in employment or the provision of services.Qualified applicants may request reasonable accommodation when needed during the application and/or screening process by contacting the appropriate agency Human Resources department.
