Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school with eligibility to practice law in Virginia.
• Considerable experience as a practicing attorney, including criminal law.

Responsibilities

• Prosecute cases in General District, Juvenile and Domestic Relations, and Circuit Courts.
• Prepare cases for prosecutions and present cases to juries and judges.
• Review cases with law enforcement, interview officers, victims and witnesses.
• Provide legal research and writing for criminal trials; handle discovery responses.
• Represent welfare department in Juvenile Court; negotiate with opposing counsel.
• Perform related tasks as required.
