Job summary

The City of Hampton seeks an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney II to join its legal team. You will represent the Commonwealth in General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, and Circuit Court, handling a range of criminal cases and advising on legal policy.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited law school with JD or LLB.
• Two years professional legal experience; criminal prosecution experience preferred.
• Active Virginia State Bar member and admitted to practice in Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Represent the Commonwealth in General District Court, Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, and Circuit Court.
• Develop and implement programs within organizational policies and report major activities to executive-level administrators.
• Advise and collaborate with law enforcement and city officials on legal issues.
