Prince William County Office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney in Virginia seeks an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney. You will handle cases at all court levels, including misdemeanors and felonies, with mentorship and support for continued education.

The role includes serving as Duty Attorney, assisting police and defense counsel, attending trainings, and engaging with the community. Must have JD and 2 years of related experience; Virginia Bar in good standing required; at-will employment.

Qualifications

• Must have Juris Doctorate degree and 2 years of related experience.
• Some experience as a criminal prosecutor or criminal defense is preferred, but not required.
• Must be a member of the Virginia State Bar in good standing.

Responsabilités

• Gain trial experience across all levels of court for misdemeanor and felony cases.
• Attend trainings, ride-alongs, and engage with the community.
• Serve as Duty Attorney and respond to calls from police, defense attorneys, and citizens on a rotating basis.
