Job summary

TDCAA is seeking an experienced attorney to join the Criminal District Attorney's office in Texas. The role involves prosecuting felony and misdemeanor offenses, including jury and non-jury trials, under general direction.

The attorney will handle cases from intake through appeal, negotiate pleas, prepare trial exhibits, and represent the State in magistration hearings and related proceedings. Weekend and holiday duties may be required.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
• At least 12 months experience as a licensed attorney.
• License to practice law in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

• Prosecutes felony and misdemeanor crimes committed by adults and juveniles, including jury and non-jury trials.
• Handles assigned cases from intake through appeal.
• Represents the State in magistration hearings, hearings relating to emergency protective orders, and examining trials.
• Attends hearings either remotely or in person, as required, at irregular times and dates, including weekends and some holidays.
