Qualifications

• Law degree or JD required.
• Licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia.
• One year of litigation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with management of a large trial calendar of felony, misdemeanor, traffic, and juvenile cases.
• Analyze and prepare all assigned cases for disposition.
• Interview witnesses to gather information for trials.
• Conduct jury selection.
• Prepare and respond to legal correspondence.
• Argue motions and other matters in court.
• Provide statutorily mandated notices to crime victims.
• Direct and guide investigative and administrative staff in the trial unit.
• Prepare cases for trial, litigate and negotiate pleas with defense counsel, and recommend sentencing.
