Job summary

State of Alaska is seeking a Criminal Justice Technician 2 in Anchorage. This role serves as the primary intake point for fraud tips, screens complaints, logs cases, and determines investigative action, while providing research and coordination support for CIU operations.

The position requires strong judgment, confidentiality, and analytical skills, with preferred knowledge of Alaska statutes, administrative codes, and related regulations, plus familiarity with APSIN, NCIC, and ARMS.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary intake point for fraud tips, evaluating and screening complaints, logging cases, and determining whether investigative action is warranted.
• Provide investigative support through research, analysis, and coordination of information requests from the public, law enforcement, and other agencies.
• Deliver administrative support including APSIN/NCIC terminal security oversight, website updates, background checks, budgeting assistance, and notary services.
• Compile and report case inventory, prosecution referrals, and time management information to CIU leadership and divisions for operational and budgeting needs.
• Manage evidence and state property by certifying as an Evidence Room Custodian, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting audits, and processing property documentation.
