Duties

Special agents carry out investigations and protection assignments across the U.S. and abroad, including:

• Providing protection for protectees.
• Conducting criminal investigations related to U.S. financial obligations.
• Planning security for National Special Security Events.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship
• Valid driver's license
• Firearm proficiency (must carry and use a firearm)
• Age between 21 and 37 at application (with exceptions for veterans and prior federal service)
• Top Secret Clearance
• Visual acuity of 20/100 uncorrected, 20/20 corrected
• Hearing within 25 decibels in both ears
• Drug testing (pre-employment and random)
• Complete training at FLETC and James J. Rowley Training Center
• Willingness to accept assignments nationwide and overseas
• Register with the Selective Service if male and born after 1959
