Job summary

The State of Georgia’s Department of Natural Resources seeks a Criminal Investigator 3 to manage caseloads, investigate alleged violations, and determine prosecutorial leads for action. Under broad supervision, you will evaluate evidence and may supervise staff.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and Georgia P.O.S.T. certification, with 2+ years of related experience, or equivalent combinations. A Class C driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Georgia P.O.S.T. certification is required.
• Two years of related experience, or POST certification with four years of experience, or POST certification with one year at the Criminal Investigator 2 level.

Responsibilities

• Investigates alleged or suspected violations of Federal, state, or local laws, rules and regulations to determine if evidence is sufficient to recommend prosecution or to report findings to the appropriate jurisdictional authority for action.
• May supervise subordinate staff.
