Job summary

City of Concord seeks qualified police officers to respond to service calls, patrol districts, and enforce laws. You will perform investigations by interviewing witnesses and suspects, conduct field operations, and prepare detailed reports and warrants. Court appearances may be required to testify on cases.

Required duties include maintaining files, operating computers, and ensuring public safety through professional demeanor and strong communication with the community and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Ability to obtain Basic Law Enforcement Certification within 12 months of hire.
• Experience with firearms and interviewing witnesses, victims, and suspects.
• Strong driving ability and safe operation of police vehicles.
• Proficient in report writing, record-keeping, and computer applications.

Responsibilities

• Respond to calls for service, patrol district, enforce laws, issue citations, make arrests.
• Investigate crimes and incidents by interviewing witnesses and suspects and following up leads.
• Conduct field operations including surveillance and executing search and arrest warrants.
• Prepare incident reports, search warrants, and maintain files.
• Attend court and testify when required.
