Job summary

The City of Concord is seeking an experienced Police Officer – Academy Graduate to serve the Concord community. This role is for academy graduates and applies advanced training to public safety, investigations, and community policing.

As a Police Officer, you will patrol, respond to calls, investigate crimes, direct traffic, testify in court, and uphold the department's standards. A POST academy certificate is required and a valid CA driver license is essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of the equivalent of 60 college semester units.
• Certificate of completion from a POST certified basic training academy.
• Must possess a valid California Driver's License.
• Ability to prepare clear, concise written reports.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned area by various means to observe, investigate, and report conditions and arrest violators.
• Respond to routine and emergency calls for protection of persons and property and enforce laws.
• Investigate crimes, interview witnesses, and complete case reports.
• Direct traffic, testify in court, and handle custodial duties of prisoners.
• Provide information to the public and develop community crime prevention programs.
