Office of the Colorado State Public Defender seeks a Licensed Social Worker to support defense teams through psychosocial assessments, release planning, and resource coordination. The role involves sensitive client information handled with confidentiality and a strong commitment to zealous advocacy.

You will work as part of a defense team, traveling statewide as needed, and may mentor graduate interns. A Master’s in Social Work and Colorado licensure within 90 days are required.

Competenze

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work.
• Licensure to practice social work (LSW or LCSW) in Colorado within 90 days of employment.
• Ability to perform essential functions with reasonable accommodation.

Mansioni

• Conduct assessments and compile psychosocial histories to guide pretrial release, detention, and sentencing decisions.
• Identify mental health, substance use, and social factors affecting clients’ cases; document symptoms and patterns.
• Gather records and support defense team with relevant information and expert referrals.
• Collaborate with attorneys to advocate for appropriate client options and resources.
