Ideal candidates possess a JD from an accredited law school, active Georgia State Bar membership, and at least 3 years of criminal defense experience with strong trial and research

Responsibilities

  • Represent clients in criminal defense at pre-trial, trial, and post-conviction stages.
  • Develop and implement defense strategies tailored to each case.

  • Draft, file, and argue motions and briefs in criminal cases.
  • Advise clients on rights, options, and outcomes.
  • Manage a caseload from intake to resolution.
  • Attend hearings, arraignments, and trials.
  • Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and staff.
  • Stay updated on criminal law changes and best practices.
  • Negotiate plea agreements when appropriate.

This role involves managing cases from intake through resolution, including pre-trial negotiations and courtroom advocacy.

Duties
  • Represent clients in criminal defense cases, including pre-trial, trial, and post-conviction phases.
  • Develop and implement defense strategies tailored to each client's case.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research to analyze case facts and prepare effective defense strategies.
  • Draft, file, and argue motions, legal briefs, and other documents related to criminal cases.
  • Advise clients on their rights, legal options, and potential outcomes.
  • Manage a caseload of criminal defense cases from intake to resolution.
  • Investigate case facts, collect evidence, and consult with expert witnesses.
  • Attend court hearings, arraignments, trials, and other legal proceedings.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on case status and developments.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal staff.
  • Participate in case strategy meetings and contribute to firm development.
  • Stay updated on changes in criminal law and best practices.
  • Represent clients in criminal trials and negotiate plea agreements.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member of the Georgia State Bar and in good standing.
  • 3+ years of experience practicing criminal law.
  • Strong knowledge of criminal law, including relevant statutes and legal procedures.
  • Excellent trial skills with a strong courtroom presence.
  • Experience in managing criminal cases from start to finish.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Client-focused with a strong commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a busy caseload.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment.
