FDNY seeks a full-time Associate Fire Protection Inspector Level 2 in the Bureau of Legal Affairs/Legal Enforcement Unit. The successful candidate will serve as Criminal Court Representative and FDNY OATH representative across the five boroughs, liaising with Corporation Counsel and reviewing court actions.

Responsibilities include research of cases (Accela, AIMS, BIS), presenting arguments clearly, and assisting in special projects while coordinating with other bureaus in the Department.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience in or more of the following: explosives/flamables manufacturing or storage; safety standards; inspection of premises; design/installation/operation/repair of sprinkler systems; or fire detection/extinguishing systems.
• Education and/or experience equivalent to the experience above; college/technical specialization in fire science/chemistry/physics/engineering may substitute one-to-one for up to four years.

Responsabilités

• Serve as Criminal Court Representative and FDNY OATH representative in Criminal Court and OATH hearings across NYC.
• Act as liaison and consultant for Corporation Counsel Attorneys in Criminal Court.
• Travel to criminal court across five boroughs; review summonses; conference cases with defendants' representatives.
• Research Criminal Court and OATH cases using Accela, AIMS and BIS; track decisions and communicate outcomes.
• Assist Enforcement Director/Deputy Director and Supervisor of Criminal Court Hearings with special projects; liaise with other bureaus.
