Job summary

The Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) seeks a full-time Associate Fire Protection Inspector Level 2 in the Bureau of Legal Affairs/Legal Enforcement Unit. The successful candidate will represent the Department in Criminal Court and OATH hearings across the five boroughs, review summonses, and coordinate with Corporation Counsel Attorneys.

Five years of relevant full-time experience in fire protection or related areas are required, with education substituting for up to four years.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of full-time experience in or more of the following: a) explosives or flammables, b) safety standards for such materials, c) inspection of premises with hazards, d) design/installation/operation/testing of sprinkler systems.
• Education may substitute for up to 4 years of experience (30 credits per year).

Responsibilities

• Serve as Criminal court Representative and OATH representative across NYC.
• Review criminal court summonses and confer with defendants' representatives.
• Liaise with Corporation Counsel Attorneys and other Bureaus for unit operations.
