Job summary

Wake County Bureau of Forensic Services in Raleigh, NC seeks a Crime Scene Supervisor to lead and develop Assistant Crime Scene Supervisors and Crime Scene Specialists. You will oversee evidence collection, ensure adherence to forensic standards, and guide legal aspects of crime scene processing.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, updating procedures, and independently reviewing cases with strict QA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical, Natural or Forensic Science, Criminal Justice or related field.
• Five years of experience in crime scene investigation or forensic evidence collection.
• IAI Crime Scene Certification required within 1 year of eligibility.
• Valid Driver's License and safe driving record.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, supervise, and review the work of Assistant Crime Scene Supervisors and Crime Scene Specialists.
• Ensure all evidence‑collection procedures and forensic methods are followed.
• Establish or revise operating procedures with guidance on legal considerations for crime scene processing.
• Independently review cases applying scientific methodology and QA standards.
