County of Nevada is seeking a Crime Analyst (Administrative Analyst) to join the Special Investigations Unit in the California region. The role focuses on data-driven investigative analysis, identifying patterns, and producing analytical products to support complex criminal investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, economics or a related field from an accredited college or university
• One year of experience in administrative, budget or personnel analysis, preferably in a public agency
• Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis to a maximum of two years
• Possession of a valid driver's license within 30 days of hire. A valid Class C driver's license must be maintained throughout employment to perform essential functions

Responsibilities

• Researches, collects, and analyzes information from investigative reports, public records, financial records, law enforcement databases, electronic sources, and other resources to identify crime patterns and leads.
• Analyzes criminal intelligence and information obtained through investigations to support strategies and operations.
• Prepares analytical reports, maps, charts, link analyses, timelines, and visual aids to support investigations and prosecution.
• Develops reports identifying crime trends, suspect associations, criminal operations, and potential threats based on intelligence.
• Accesses and queries federal, state, and local law enforcement databases to obtain and validate information.
• Develops and maintains specialized databases and information management systems in accordance with laws and records retention.
• Assists with evaluating and improving crime analysis systems and processes.
• Provides administrative support for departmental projects, performance tracking, reporting, and compliance.
• Performs related analytical, administrative, and special project assignments as needed.
