Job summary

The City of Huntington Park is seeking a Crime Analyst to provide comprehensive analytical, intelligence, and administrative support to the Police Department. You will research, collect, analyze, and disseminate crime data, identify patterns and trends, and support strategic planning and investigations.

Qualifications include crime analysis certification and a bachelor’s degree in a related field; experience with ArcGIS, Excel, Power BI, Crystal Reports, and Palantir is preferred.

Qualifications

• Certification in crime analysis from an accredited college or university is required.
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Statistics is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Research, analyze, and collect data to identify crime series, patterns and trends.
• Interpret and provide statistical information for department staff.
• Discuss and evaluate crime patterns with Investigative and Patrol staff.
• Prepare crime summaries, statistical reports, charts, maps and related materials.
• Analyze and review internal and external reports to determine offender identification and deployment needs.
• Prepare predictive summaries based on statistics and behavior patterns.
• Assist with department use of crime mapping and analytical software.
