Job summary

Muller, Inc. is seeking a Utility Foreman for site-based work focused on trenching, excavation, and underground utility installation. You will supervise a crew, ensure safety protocols, and coordinate with project managers on daily tasks.

The role requires experience with wet utilities and operation of large excavators, with a strong emphasis on quality control and hands-on training of team members on site.

Qualifications

• Must communicate directly with clients.
• 1 year of wet utility experience or more.
• Ability to operate large excavators with precision.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to work in confined spaces.
• Able to access secured facilities.
• High attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Excavates trenches for water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer.
• Installs trench boxes as necessary.
• Operates equipment in compliance with Muller’s safety policies and OSHA procedures.
• Ensure proper excavation and compaction procedures are performed.
• Maintenance: daily inspections and grease equipment at intervals.
• Demonstrate knowledge of underground utilities.
• Performs related duties to complete the job.
• Manage quality control and production.
• Train team members in a hands-on manner.

Title: Utility Foreman

Type: Full time, non-exempt

Location: Job Site

Reports To: Superintendents & Project Managers

Schedule: Monday - Friday, some Saturdays

• Ensures all equipment is maintained by performing daily equipment inspections & grease equipment at required intervals
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of underground utilities
• Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required to complete the job

• Train team members as needed in a hands-on manner

Physical Requirements

• Employee must be physically fit to perform duties of the job in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling (up to 50 lbs.).
• Regularly required to sit and stand, must be able to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and verbally communicate and listen.
• Other physical requirements include walking, climbing, balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending or crawling.
• Specific vision abilities required by the position include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
