Job summary

Muller, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Equipment Operator to excavate trenches for water and sewer projects, install trench boxes, and operate heavy equipment in accordance with Muller's safety policies and OSHA procedures.

The role involves performing proper excavation and compaction, daily equipment inspections, and maintaining a strong knowledge of underground utilities while supporting quality control and production.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Excavates trenches for water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer.
• Installs trench boxes as necessary.
• Operates equipment in compliance with safety policies and OSHA procedures.
• Ensure proper excavation & compaction procedures are performed.
• Maintains equipment with daily inspections & grease as required.
• Demonstrates working knowledge of underground utilities.
• Performs other related duties to complete the job.
• Manage quality control and production.
• Train team members as needed in a hands-on manner.

Physical Requirements:

• Employee must be physically fit to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
• Regularly required to sit and stand, must be able to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and verbally communicate and listen.
• Other physical requirements include walking, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling.
• Specific vision abilities required by the position include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
