Job summary

The City of Delray Beach is seeking a skilled Crew Leader to supervise and guide maintenance crews responsible for water, sewer, roads, and related facilities. You will lead daily activities, ensure safety, and coordinate with other teams to meet project deadlines.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 3 years of supervisory experience; a CDL with airbrakes/tanker endorsements is preferred and may be required within six months of hire. The role is on-site and hands-on.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of professional crew leadership experience.
• Prior foreman or supervisor experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and instruct staff in installation, repair, and maintenance tasks.
• Prepare routine reports and maintain records.
• Assign daily work and review completed jobs with crews.
• Train and ensure quality workmanship of crews.
• Coordinate work with other crews to meet deadlines and safety practices.
• Perform semi-skilled tasks in carpentry, electrical, plumbing, and other trades.
• Move equipment and assist with site clean-up as needed.
• Open facilities to set up chairs and tables for activities.
