Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a qualified supervisor to lead tree trimming and vegetation-clearing crews in California. The role emphasizes safety, performance, and strict adherence to ANSI and OSHA standards.

You will coach crews, coordinate assignments, and maintain records while ensuring safe operation near energized conductors. Qualifications include tree work experience, herbicide certification, and a valid CDL/DOT where required.

Qualifications

• Experience in tree trimming or clearance crews; ability to supervise field crews.
• HS diploma optional but preferred; readiness to obtain certifications as needed.
• First-aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Driver’s license and DOT medical card as required by law.
• Herbicide application certification or equivalent as required.
• Ability to lead under pressure and multitask across crews.

Responsibilities

• Provide support and coaching to the crew to achieve production goals.
• Identify safety hazards and ensure compliance with company, OSHA, and industry requirements.
• Allocate and prioritize work as directed by the General Foreperson.
• Conduct safety training, pre-job briefings, crew assignments, and coaching.
• Coordinate crew response during emergencies and natural disasters.
• Drive and operate assigned vehicles and equipment; perform basic maintenance.
• Maintain production records and cost controls.
• Interpret utility maps and electrical diagrams; ensure safe operations.
