Job summary

Heartwood Tree Care in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced Climber to lead a tree care crew and manage ground, climbing and aerial lift duties on job sites. You will coordinate safety, client communication, and project timing while ensuring high quality work.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in professional climbing, a valid driver’s license (CDL a plus), proficient pruning, species identification, and hands-on experience with bucket trucks and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional climbing experience.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL is aPlus.
• Experience with pruning large trees and ornamentals.
• Ability to identify tree and shrub species and understand their characteristics.
• Knowledge of tree care safety standards and proper equipment use.

Responsibilities

• Lead a tree care crew and manage job sites.
• Prune and remove trees as required; install tree support systems.
• Start-of-day tasks: vehicle inspections, reporting, and territory meetings.
• Develop strategy and delegate crew duties for safe, accurate removal and pruning.
• Mentor trainees and ensure safe operation of aerial lifts.
