Job summary

The City of Longview is seeking skilled and semi-skilled general laborers for maintenance and repair of streets, water and sewer systems, parks and facilities. You will lead work crews and coordinate staff, vehicles, and equipment while following all safety regulations.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or GED and at least three years of equipment operation experience; a Texas Driver’s License is required, with Class A CDL for Public Works duties.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required, plus three years of experience operating specialized vehicles and maintenance equipment.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License; Class A CDL required for Public Works.
• May be required to obtain Certified Operator status and related certifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of equipment and vehicles as assigned.
• Lead work crews and coordinate staff, vehicles and equipment.
• Perform maintenance and repair on streets, roadways, water/sewer systems, parks and facilities.
• Adhere to safety rules and regulations; report hazards and incidents.
• Provide customer service and maintain records as required.
