Job summary

Bryant Associates, Inc. in Louisville, KY is seeking a Crew Chief I to lead a survey crew and manage field data collection using GPS and traditional methods. You will review real estate and construction plans to perform boundary, topographic, and right-of-way surveys for utility and transportation projects.

Responsibilities include supervising crew members, coordinating with engineers, and ensuring safety standards while advancing survey technology and training staff across our surveying team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of survey experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Supplemental surveying courses are a plus.
• Must be proficient with survey equipment (GPS, Total Stations, Scanners).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering plans.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass driving record.

Responsibilities

• Complete site control, boundary reconnaissance, construction staking and topographic surveys
• Perform 3D scanning, and other surveying services in support of engineering work
• Review of maps, field notes, and exhibits; performing construction staking calculations for improvements and utilities
• Support surveying and mapping activities for boundary surveys, topographic mapping and construction staking projects
• Supervise crew members to complete daily survey assignments
• Coordinate requirements of Resident Engineer and Construction Supervisor
• Work in close collaboration with Project Surveyors
• Operate, daily, various surveying instruments
• Travel to job sites daily; occasional overnight travel
• Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations
• Continually advance knowledge with upgrades in technology
