Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSurvey Party Chief

Jr. Davis Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic to fill the position of a Party Chief. For heavy highway construction layout, must have knowledge of Trimble GPS/Robotic equipment and software. Strong background in roadway layout and as-built. Must have clean MVR, since position requires the use of company truck. We are looking for someone that has a “CAN DO” attitude!!!
We are one of the largest heavy highway and civil construction firms in the state with over 900 employees, while still retaining a family business atmosphere.
COMPENSATION: Based on experience. Our OJT (On the Job Training) will allow you to move up in our company as your skill set expands.
Responsibilities

  • Managing land surveying projects within several industries.
  • Tasks required but not limited to: Construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography.
  • Ability to operate as one man team
  • Organize field staking materials as necessary
  • Provide technical expertise to internal and external clients
  • Competent with Trimble, GPS and Total station
  • Complete and maintain accurate data files and field notes
  • Maintain productive working relationships with all clients and co-workers

Requirements:

  • Experienced in Surveying for 2+ years.
  • Ability to carry survey equipment and supplies in remote, rural, or urban surroundings
  • Must have a safety first attitude. Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures is required
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.



Knowledge & Skills:

  • Working knowledge of AUTO-CAD experience and computer literacy
  • GPS/Robotic equipment and software.
  • OSHA 10 and CPRT/First Aid or ability and willingness to acquire it

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and walk long distances
