Job summary

Role Description

The Crew Chief is a full-time, on-site role based in Kaukauna, WI. This role oversees sanitation “Pit Crews” on the plant floor, ensuring all sanitation tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with customer and regulatory standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include assigning tasks, monitoring crew performance, coaching team members, and driving continuous improvement in safety, speed, and reliability. The Crew Chief collaborates closely with plant operations leadership to align sanitation schedules with production needs and minimize downtime. This role also involves conducting inspections, documenting procedures, addressing issues, and supporting a positive, accountable team culture.

Qualifications

• Experience leading front-line teams in industrial, food processing, or sanitation environments, with strong people management and coaching skills.
• Knowledge of sanitation practices, food safety, and regulatory compliance (e.g., GMP, HACCP) or willingness to learn and apply these standards.
• Ability to organize work, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
• Strong communication skills, including clear instructions, constructive feedback, and collaborative problem-solving with crews and plant leadership.
• Comfort working on-site in a food plant, including meeting physical demands such as standing, walking, and handling equipment for extended periods.
• Commitment to workplace safety, continuous improvement, and maintaining high-quality sanitation outcomes.
• Previous experience as a supervisor, crew lead, or shift lead is required; experience in contract sanitation is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training in sanitation, food processing, or operations is beneficial. Loop
