About the Role

We're looking for a motivated, technically minded AV Control Systems Programmer to help program, configure, troubleshoot, and commission professional audiovisual systems in conference rooms, classrooms, auditoriums, and other commercial environments.

You'll work alongside experienced senior programmers both on-site and in our shop, gaining hands‑on experience with industry-leading AV control, audio, video, and networking technologies. As your skills and certifications grow, you'll take ownership of your own programming projects and commissioning assignments.

We believe in investing in our people. We provide paid training, cover certification exam fees, compensate you for study time, and offer permanent hourly pay increases as you earn approved certifications. This is an opportunity to build a long‑term career in AV technology with a clear path toward becoming a senior programmer.

What You'll Do
  • Program and troubleshoot AV control systems: Load, modify, test, and troubleshoot Crestron programs and touch panels using SIMPL Windows and Crestron Construct/CH5. Support Crestron Flex and DM NVX systems.
  • Configure audio systems: Build and edit Q‑SYS Designer files, develop UCI touch panels and basic Lua scripts, and configure Dante and Q‑LAN audio networks.
  • Commission new installations: Assist with network configuration, DSP setup, gain structure, system testing, and room commissioning.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues: Respond to on‑site and remote service calls involving AV control, audio, video, and connectivity.
  • Integrate AV equipment: Configure and connect displays, projectors, cameras, Zoom Rooms, and Microsoft Teams Rooms using IP, RS‑232, IR, and other supported interfaces.
  • Maintain technical documentation: Keep IP schedules, program files, configuration backups, and as‑built documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Support end users: Explain room operation and system functionality to clients and help ensure a smooth user experience.
  • Collaborate with the team: Work closely with project managers, installers, and senior programmers to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
What You'll Bring
  • 0–4 years of experience in commercial AV, IT support, low‑voltage systems, or a related technical field.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with Crestron, Q‑SYS, or another AV control or DSP platform, gained through work, education, or technical training.
  • A basic understanding of IP networking, including IP addressing, switches, VLANs, and DHCP.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Professional communication skills and a customer‑focused approach when working with clients.
  • A valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely work on ladders and lifts.

The following are a plus, but are not required for the right candidate:

  • Crestron Certified Programmer (CCP)
  • Q‑SYS Level 1 or Level 2
  • Dante Level 1 or Level 2
Competitive hourly pay: $30–$44 per hour
