Job summary

Seaman Paper Co. in Gardner, MA is seeking a dependable Crepe Operator to join our Converting team.

You will operate crepe machines to transform tissue paper into crepe paper used in downstream converting operations, while maintaining a safe, efficient production environment. This full-time 2nd shift (3:00pm–11:00pm) role offers training for the right candidate and competitive hourly pay of $20.00–$22.00 plus shift differential.

Qualifications

• Previous machine operating experience preferred.
• Manufacturing or converting experience is a plus.
• Mechanical aptitude and basic troubleshooting ability preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate crepe machines per production requirements.
• Load and unload tissue paper rolls safely and efficiently.
• Monitor machine performance and perform routine checks.
• Adjust equipment to maintain production and quality.
• Transport finished crepe rolls to converting lines.
• Inspect and maintain roll carts for safe operation.
• Complete production documentation accurately and on time.
• Identify and report safety, quality, or equipment concerns.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Support team and production needs as required.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Follow all safety, quality standards, and production requirements.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This is a hands-on manufacturing position. The role requires standing and walking throughout the shift, bending, reaching, climbing stairs, and working on elevated platforms and catwalks.

The position requires the ability to:

• Stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.
• Safely work on elevated platforms and catwalks.
• Push and maneuver roll carts weighing up to 500 pounds.
• Occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work safely around operating machinery and production equipment.
