Hollingsworth & Vose in Walpole, MA is seeking an entry-level Production Operator (Third Hand) to support paper machine operations. You will work with high-speed equipment and may operate forklifts as part of materials movement and packaging.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and strong teamwork, communication, math, and mechanical skills. Training provided in a dynamic mill environment with day, evening, and night shifts. In-person work location is Walpole, MA.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Production Operator (Third Hand) is an entry level, production position in our East Walpole, MA manufacturing plant. They operate, assist, and support paper machine operations. This involves working with high speed, continuous process equipment and forklift operation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for supporting the safe and efficient operation of the Paper Machine and Rewinder, assisting in materials movement, labeling and packaging, collecting and removing broke/scrap materials, performing cleaning and housekeeping tasks in the general Mill area and other tasks as assigned by crew leaders and Supervision.
• General knowledge of safe practices and safe performance of all duties, including proper use of PPE, proper operation of fork trucks and attachments, strict adherence to all safe practices and guidelines and general safe conduct at all times in the Mill.
• And other related duties as assigned or required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Work experience in an industrial environment preferred.
• Familiarity with computers and able to conduct work tasks on computer systems.
• Successful candidates will be team players with good communication skills (English), good math and mechanical skills, safe working records, and the ability to work effectively with others.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS & ENVIRONMENT:

• Schedule – Must be able to accommodate the ability to work an 8hr and 12hr shift structure on any of the following shifts as needed
• 1st (7am-4pm) / 2nd (3pm-12am) / 3rd (11pm-8am)
• Day Shift (7am-7:30pm) / Night Shift (7pm-7:30am)
• Candidates must be able to perform typical physical aspects of the job, including standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), sitting, bending, reaching.
• Acceptable hearing and eyesight required.
• Position involves working in Mill and Warehouse environments.

Pay Transparency Range:

$25.12 per hour
