Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Mechanical Drafter/Design Support to take ownership of drafting responsibilities for assigned projects from concept to customer, under supervisory review. The role emphasizes independent problem solving across marketing, manufacturing, and vendors.

You will develop 3D models and design documentation with Creo 12.4, apply GD&T, and ensure manufacturability through precise tolerancing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Experience with CAD/GD&T in design environments is required.
• Strong drafting principles and familiarity with manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Create 3D models and design documentation for intricate parts and complex assemblies using Creo.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and manufacturing personnel to complete assignments.
• Explore software functionality to find new design solutions.
• Apply GD&T and tolerancing to ensure manufacturability and quality.
• Document design processes including calculations, decisions, test results, and revisions.
